Toshiyuki KONISHI

"Memory of Herds"

Konishi draws group portraits based on photographs of his family, his childhood and people close to him repeatedly. Group portraits remain anonymous, while the sense of anonymity leaves viewers a space to recall their family portraits in memory. Continuing evolution of his paintings pushes forward a consciousness about “family” and evokes the memory of “herds” of humanity. URANO is pleased to announce that we will exhibit ongoing Toshiyuki Konishi’s solo exhibition as well as a special exhibition “Permanent mongolian blue spot” by Yoichi Umetsu along with TOKYO ART BOOK FAIR including Sunday, October 8, 2017.
