We are pleased to announce this year’s special music program, featuring some of the most exciting artists from Japan.
As part of the opening event, there will be live acts performed on stage at the board walk area, which is located outside along the canal and will also serve as the site for food and drink stalls.
The rapper Tamaki Roy, who works in the fields of music, art and performance, will hit the stage as an opening act, followed by YPY aka Koshiro Hino, a band leader of Goat and other projects including orchestral works who is receiving attention worldwide, merging some experimental tracks and dance beats. On the evening stage, YoshimiO, who is best known as one of the core members of Boredoms and actively continues to work in numerous projects including OOIOO, will perform raga-inspired music from SAICOBAB in duo with a sitar player Yoshidadaikiti.
Following the previous year, COMPUMA will be presenting series of music specially selected for the Book Fair this year.
His music selection will be streamed during the Fair’s opening hours at the board walk area facing the canal, offering a soundscape that blends well with the Tokyo’s unique cityscape.
Come by the area for a break and enjoy the view with food, drinks and inspiring music!

YOSHIMIO
30年近くにも渡り、世界で最も先鋭的なエクスペリメンタル・ミュージック・グループBoredomsの中心メンバーとして活動。他、自身のリーダー・バンドOOIOOや、Kim Gordon(Sonic Youth)等とのFree Kitten、インド伝統楽器との即興演奏バンドSaicobaba等複数のパーマネントな音楽活動はもちろん、2017年よりRagaの古代ヌメロロジカルな手法をもとに作曲した音楽を演奏するGrind Raga Core バンド、”SAICOBAB”（＝最古の赤ちゃん） をSitar奏者、Yoshida Dikiti等と、スタートさせる。
近年ではドラマーとして、NY在住のミュージシャンたちとの即興演奏をYOSHIMIO collaBOration としてシリーズ化している。世界中を舞台にした数え切れないセッション・ワークやプロジェクトへの参加、映画『YUNNAN COLORFREE』のサウンドトラックをはじめとするソロ＝YOSHIMIO名義での音源制作、CM音楽制作、さらには、自身のブランドemeraldthirteenでの服飾デザインまでをもこなす、正にポリフォニックな多層型アーティスト。音楽制作、延いてはその根幹となる器楽演奏や発声の方法までもが完全にオリジナルなメソッドで貫かれており、楽器や音そのものから放たれるバイブレーションと素直に対峙することから始まる身体的反応を第一義としたプリミティブな表現を核に、同時代性を伴う鮮烈な色彩感覚をちりばめた、独自のエートスを獲得している。
Yoshidadaikiti（ヨシダダイキチ）
200年近くに渡りシタールの可能性を探求しているイムダッド派の７代目ウスタッド・シュジャート・カーンに師事する日本屈指のシタール奏者。インド古典音楽に留まらず、YOSHIMIO(Boredoms/OOIOO)と共にSAICOBAB / SAICOBABA名義での活動、民謡～ポップス～現代アートと多様な国内外アーティストとの共演、UAへの楽曲提供や奄美島唄の第一人者・朝崎郁恵とのアルバムプロデュース、CM曲制作やシタールやインド音楽に関する本「シタールのほん」執筆などボーダレスに活躍。

環ROY | Tamaki Roy
1981年宮城県生まれ。これまでに最新作『なぎ』を含む5枚のCDアルバムを発表し、国内外の様々な音楽祭へ出演する。近年は、パフォーマンス作品『ありか』愛知県芸術劇場（2016年）、インスタレーション作品『Types』寺田倉庫 T-Art Gallery（2015年）、映画『アズミ・ハルコは行方不明』劇伴音楽（2016年）、NHK教育『デザインあ』コーナー音楽（2016年）などの制作を行う。その他、鎮座DOPENESS／U-zhaan／YUKI／サカナクションなどとコラボレーションでの制作を行う。
YPY
日野浩志郎によるソロプロジェクト。カセットテープレーベルbirdFriend主宰。「goat」、「bonanzas」というバンドのプレイヤー兼コンポーザーであり、最近ではクラシック楽器や電子音を融合させたハイブリッドな大編成プロジェクト「Virginal Variations」を開始。Nous、EM records、Where To Now?からレコードをリリースし、10月にはStefan SchneiderとのコラボEPをTALより発売予定。
