The event will be dedicated to the editorial projects carried out in recent years by Libri Finti Clandestini and 5X Letterpress dedicated to the exploration of industrial spaces in search of materials, for the enhancement of their memory and the safeguard of their future. Videos of the exploration actions will be shown, together with original materials found in the abandoned places and fanzines and artist books, hand made based on the materials found, with a focus on the particular process behind the book making.

Libri Finti Clandestini

Libri Finti Clandestini is a cosmopolitan collective that bases its work and research on artist’s books. Researching paper materials in old archives, paper mills and labs and exploring abandoned factories using cameras, telephones and portable scanners, in order to catalog the material found for future projects, its aim is to create books (individually bound by hand, stamped and numbered), ready to be used and drawn in (sketchbook and notebooks), pop up books in a small editions (50, 100 copies), fanzines and unique copies collaborations with artists, always under the sign of “experimentation”.

 

5X Letterpress


5X Letterpress is a duo of graphic designers and subversive printmakers. They produce prints, exclusively by hand using old printing presses, movable types and every surface that can be inked and pressed. Born in 2018, 5X Letterpress, is characterized by unlimited experimentation and research in the graphic design area. 
In the last years the collaboration between 5X and LFC has resulted in the creation of limited edition editorial products, handmade with special solutions that are difficult to find in the big publishing industry.
