About the Participation

This application form is for participants who wish to have their own booth in which to exhibit and sell their publications. The use of booth types A & Z is not free.


As we receive great numbers of applications, we may decline the application based on the submitted information. Please provide us the most up-to-date and accurate information on your activities.


Submitting your application does not guarantee your participation in the fair. Please do not announce your participation until you receive our official notification of your participation via email.


Application deadline is March 31th (Sunday) and we will notify you regarding your participation by middle of April. 

At the Fair

The organizing committee will decide the position of booths according to the overall layout of the space. Please make sure that your booth is attended at all times during the fair. Please make sure to have enough change. Electricity outlets will not be available. Wi-Fi connection is limited at the venue. We recommend to bring your own mobile hotspot.

Since TABF 2015, we opened new section called the ‘INTERNATIONAL’ section, highlighting bookmakers who are active not only domestically but also internationally.


By having your booth in the INTERNATIONAL section

  • – Exhibitor’s name and introduction will be printed in a special part of the catalogue and website.


INTERNATIONAL section requirements

  • – You are actively working internationally.
  • – Your books are distributed internationally.
  • – You publish at least 3 titles in edition of 500 or more, every year.


You must fulfill at least two of three requirements above in order to be considered for the section.

Applications will be reviewed and based on your submitted information you will be notified regarding your eligibility via email.


Fee: Regular booth fee + 21,600 yen (including tax)


Type A


For publishers, bookshops, companies, artist groups and collectives, or for individual artists. Fees are based on the number of tables you wish to use. Use of walls is optional and is subject to additional fee.


Table size

1 Table (1,800 x 600 mm): 48,600 yen (including tax)
2 Tables (3,600 x 600 mm): 97,200 yen (including tax)
3 Tables (5,400 x 600 mm): 145,800 yen (including tax)

*Use of the wall is optional. If you’d like to layout the tables differently, please let us know.
*Table size is larer than the one in previous years, which size was 1,500 x 450 mm.



INTERNATIONAL section: 21,600 yen (including tax)

Wall Use per Table: 5,400 yen (Including tax) No nails/pins. Only double-sided adhesives are allowed to be used.



Type Z


Type Z booths are for self-publishing artists/zinesters who want to sell self-published works, if you are a gallery or a publisher please apply for Type A booth.
You can apply for 1/2 size table shared with another exhibitor.


Table size

1/2 Table (750×450 mm): 27,000 yen (including tax)
1 Table (1,500×450 mm): 37,800 yen (including tax)



Wall Use: 5,400 yen (Including tax) No nails/pins. Only double-sided adhesives are allowed to use.



S Booth


The booth is for a participant who is willing to showcase their works in a special way.

Applications should be sent to us by March 31th (Sunday), 2019. If you are applying from outside of Japan and need immediate confirmation of your participation due to travel planning, please indicate this in the notes section and we will get back to you.

  • Please put Exhibitor’s Name. The name you put here will appear on TABF website, catalogue and on the booth sign.

  • If different from above

  • Please choose one category that represents your activity the most

  • If you prefer a booth with a wall behind, please choose "Yes". Numbers of booths with walls are limited.

If you choose Type A booth please answer questions 11 to 12 below

  • If you wish to use more than 3 tables, please specify the number of tables you wish to use in the Notes section.

  • Participation in this section is subject to the approval of the organizing committee.
