TOKYO ART BOOK FAIR
Community Agreement

To all those involved with TOKYO ART BOOK FAIR (TABF)

TABF is an event that aims to enrich the context and community surrounding art books by creating a place where innovative art book creators from Japan and abroad can come together and communicate the distinctive qualities of their printed matter directly to the audience.

TABF created a set of community agreements to ensure a safe environment free from discrimination where people of different backgrounds and values can interact with respect for each other.

We ask all exhibitors, visitors, partners, staff, and others involved in this event, to abide by the following commitments.

  • – To be inclusive and respectful of all race, nationality, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity/expression, disability, religion, age, appearance and physical characteristics, language, etc. Discriminatory remarks, harassment, hate speech, and slander are strictly forbidden.
  • – To be aware of one’s privilege. To not abuse one’s power based on race, sex, social and/or economic status.
  • – To be mindful of others’ boundaries and to not engage in inappropriate physical contact, harassment, or stalking.
  • – If you feel unwell, please refrain from participating in the event. Be considerate of your own and others’ health.
  • – To be respectful of other participants and to not obstruct presentations and events.

If you are being harassed, feel unsafe in any way, or see someone in distress at the venue, please reach out to the staff nearby for help or email us at info@tokyoartbookfair.com.

Upon receiving a report, we will discuss the issue with the person(s) involved and find the best way to resolve the problem.

Through TABF we hope to make a positive impact in the art book community and, in a larger sense, the world.
