Performer: Mindy Seu
Artist and researcher Mindy Seu, editor of CYBERFEMINISM INDEX, presents her new lecture performance A SEXUAL HISTORY OF THE INTERNET, a two-part project consisting of a participatory lecture performance and an artist book. This work reexamines the male-dominated history of the internet through a feminist lens.
During the performance, Instagram Stories are used as slides, and the audience participates by reading aloud quotations displayed on their smartphones. In conjunction with the performance, a 700+ page artist book of the same title will be published and available for purchase at the venue.

・Please be prepared to read some text aloud during the performance.

Mindy Seu
Mindy Seu (b. 1991, California) is an artist and technologist based in Los Angeles and New York City. Her practice of technology-driven performance and publication focuses on online culture and internet history. A SEXUAL HISTORY OF THE INTERNET (2025) follows her first book CYBERFEMINISM INDEX (2023), a pseudo-encyclopedia that gathers three decades of online activism and net art, which was commissioned by Rhizome, premiered at the New Museum, and awarded a Graham Foundation Grant. Mindy is currently teaching as an Associate Professor at University of California, Los Angeles in the Department of Design Media Arts.
