At TOKYO ART BOOK FAIR 2022, we feature France as this year's "Guest Country." The speakers at this talk event are the art book specialists who are also taking part in the "Guest Country" exhibitions.

First up is Yvon Lambert Bookshop's manager, Bruno Mayrargue. Established in 1967, Yvon Lambert continues to lead the French art book scene as a gallery, bookshop, and publisher. The fascinating exhibition "60 Years of Yvon Lambert" showcases its history in a well-balanced display of precious books and archives including past exhibition invitations and limited edition publications along books, zines, and T-shirts which are more accessible. He will present to you what not to miss from the exhibition!

Next are the specialists of artbooks and zines who have curated our "Bouquinistes" exhibit. (Bouquinistes are the street stalls along the Seine usually selling secondhand books and postcards.) All three have each amazing practice but more than anything, we were moved by their sincere selection of books they presented when we met. They each will be talking about what they do and the reason behind their curations.

Taking on the ”Bouquinistes: Illustration&Comics" section are Severine Bascouert and Sammy Stein, artists themselves, they publish the magazine LAGON which showcases domestic and international artists. They have gathered for us a ton of zines and comics so much they overflow from the stall, by visiting comic fairs and trading with their friends. Like the zines of local emerging creatives who will soon be known around the world, you will be able to encounter works never seen before li!

Following the duo, Thibault Choay from the bookshop CLASSIC Paris will be up for the talk. Although CLASIC Paris sells books of a wide-ranging genre, we have asked him to focus on the theme "Street" for this occasion. The publications brought together by Thibault's global network of friends and fresh works by local artists have merged: he will present to you such a selection of books coming from his energetic bookshop generating new culture.

The third curator is the former LE BAL Books' director and the co-founder of the art book fair "Rolling Paper Book Fair", Emilie Lauriola. As she also has worked greatly with photography within her publishing label, "Sasori Books," we have asked her to represent the "Photography" section at TABF. Beings still conscious of photography's relationship with Japan, she has selected for us a broad range of photobooks, from the newest to the rarest.

Through each of their presentation, we hope to take you along to explore the French art scene today.
