In recent years, numerous art book fairs have emerged across cities in Asia. Each of these fairs, while distinctive in character, has been growing in importance not only as a platform for international art book publishing but also as a community collaborating with local publishing scenes.

This year, the Tokyo Art Book Fair (TABF) participated in several Asian fairs — including the Book Book Festival (Korea) in September, the Singapore Art Book Fair (Singapore), Unlimited Edition – Seoul Art Book Fair (Korea), and the Bangkok Art Book Fair (Thailand). Through these exchanges, TABF has been fortunate to collaborate closely with the organizing teams of these fairs, developing exchange programs and shared initiatives in preparation for TABF 2025.

For this talk event, we welcome Renée Ting, Director of the Singapore Art Book Fair, and Pat Laddaphan and Piyakorn Chaiverapundech, co-founders of Studio150 and organizers of the Bangkok Art Book Fair. They will share their recent initiatives and visions for their respective fairs. Together, we will explore the potential of cross-regional collaboration among Asian art book fairs and discuss how they each perceive the current landscape of independent publishing in the region.

The session will be moderated by Akira Kuroki and Naoko Higashi from TABF, who have been leading the Exchange Program.
