Speaker: María Carolina Ceballos
In this performative talk, I will do an introduction of my research, as well as an out loud reading of some of my artists books / graphic scores. This fusion of two different artistic practices is a big part of my creative research and is an exploration of interdisciplinary expression, as well as a pursuit for beauty. The event will have me playing small paper “instruments”, singing or reciting, and performing sound with my body as the public and I see the book on the screen and/ or table. The books are mostly in English, with some exceptions in Spanish and one without text. The audience is welcomed to read on the screen the translated text to English of the pieces in Spanish, but also to enjoy a moment in which books become a universal language: sound.
