Fw:Books is an Amsterdam-based publishing firm focusing primarily on the field of contemporary photography; the firm conceives the act of utilizing the unique, intangible medium of photography in creating a book to be a choice to create a work of art.

For this talk event, we welcome two of Fw:Books’s founding members, Karin Krijgsman and Dieuwertje Komen. Join the two as they reflect on Fw:Books’s history and delve into contemplation on book design and the world of publishing.

Karin Krijgsman and Dieuwertje Komen, founded Fw:Photography, together with Petra Stavast and Hans Gremmen. Fw:Photography was initially a platform for 10 photographers which all graduated from AKV St.Joost in Breda. Karin Krijgsman and Dieuwertje Komen are both working at AKV St.Joost, and run a practice as photographer, writer and curator.”
